Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology
The Department is committed to provide undergraduate students with a strong foundation in:
- Dental Anatomy, Oral Histology, Embryology, Oral Physiology, Oral Pathology and Microbiology.
- Tooth morphology in detail through interactive lectures and hands-on methods
- Understanding the structure, development, and function of oral and craniofacial tissues
- Identifying normal and abnormal oral tissues both clinically and microscopically
- Pathogenesis and histopathology of oral diseases and basic diagnostic principles
- Integrated learning through interdisciplinary teaching and case-based discussions
- Fostering scientific interest through seminars, student projects, and academic activities
- Instilling professional ethics, empathy, and a patient-centered approach from the foundational years
FOR POST GRADUATE
The Department is committed to training postgraduate students to become competent academicians, researchers, and diagnosticians.
- Fostering critical, creative, and lateral thinking in addressing clinical and histopathological challenges
- Developing a rational and evidence-based approach to histopathological diagnosis with clinical correlation
- Enhancing diagnostic acumen essential for effective clinical decision-making in oral and maxillofacial pathology
- Provide intense training in the interpretation of biopsies, cytology, and advanced diagnostic techniques
- Preparing postgraduates to confidently teach Dental Anatomy, Oral Histology, and Oral Pathology to undergraduate students
- Encouraging active participation in research, scientific writing, and publications
- Promoting multidisciplinary collaboration for comprehensive and patient – centered oral health care
